MOSS ROSES

Moss RosesA group usually of Centifolia origin with mossed buds and stems. In some cases the moss completely covers the stems and in others just the calyx. Varying in height from 3ft. to as much as 6ft. or more. Usually scented these roses are available in most colours.

(Moss) Double, soft lilac-pink flowers are borne on long well mossed stems. Ample, light greyish-green leaves.

Alfred de Dalmas (1855)

(Moss) "Mousseline". Clusters of medium sized, creamy white flushed pink, semi-double flowers with a strong scent. Produced from June to October.

(Moss) A vigorous shrub bearing fully double, cupped flowers of rich red to crimson. Scented and well mossed.

Chapeau de Napoléon (1826)

(Moss) ‘Crested Moss’. "Cristata". Fully double, cabbage-like, deep silvery-pink flowers enhanced by the fascinating formation of moss on each bud, resembling the shape of a cocked hat, hence its name. Scented.

(Moss) A true Moss rose with a balsam like smell to the moss when touched, especially in hot weather. Clear pink flowers opening flat. Richly scented.
